THE SNOW IS COMING. Don’t get caught out once again this winter!
Can you feel the chill in the air? Its getting close to that time of year again - when we all get STUCK in the snow!! Remember last year? How many times did you struggle to get your car out of your street? Or get stuck on a small incline, or slide into a kerb? How many times were you late for work… or even worse… Late getting home in the evening?!
Well, it doesn’t have to be like that. Throughout Europe drivers prepare far better than we do for the bad weather. I myself used to run a top Winter Rally School in Norway for a number of years, so I’ve been in temperatures of minus 30 & below and seen conditions far worse than we will ever see here in the UK. But yet the locals NEVER have a problem getting around. Why? Because every November they fit WINTER TYRES to their car, and in the spring- they fit Summer tyres!
How do winter tyres work?
Winter tyres are made in as very different way to our ‘summer’ tyres. They have very different tread patterns and are made of a completely different rubber. Your summer tyres go hard (like plastic) in the cold, that’s why you get very little grip from them. Winter tyres stay soft & grippy and the tread pattern is designed to cut through the snow & ice to find traction. The result? THEY WORK!
So don’t get stuck again this winter. Invest in a set of winter tyres now for your car, while the price remains VERY competitive! Store them in your shed or garage and when the time comes- fit them and remain mobile!
What happens if the snow thaws out?
I know our weather can be very unpredictable but you don’t need to worry about driving on them when the roads thaw out- they work
perfectly well on dry roads. So just leave them on your vehicle until you are sure the last of the bad weather is long gone! Then simply swap to your summer tyres and keep your winter tyres for the next year!

1. Buy a set of winter tyres and keep them until they are needed, then pop back and we will fit them to your current wheels (for a small fee).
2. Use a spare set of wheels & we will fit your winter tyres to those now, so all you need to do is swap your wheels over when the time comes and away you go!
