DFP Removal at Eclipse Performance

How does a DPF work??

Your car requires a free flowing exhaust system to perform at its best. Any obstructions to the flow of exhaust gasses reduces performance. Your cars Diesel Particulate Filter is an obstruction in your exhaust that is supposed to absorb & clean the gasses that your engine produces. Naturally your filter will become more & more blocked as it absorbes these gasses. There are a series of pressure sensors that monitor the level of blockage. When a preset level of back pressure is reached your cars ECU triggers its 'regeneration' cycle to attempt to clean the filter. A common regen cycle requires you to drive down the motorway for around 20 miles holding a constant speed. During this time your car is pumping extra fuel in which is used to clean the filter.

Unfortunately this rarely achieves the required level of cleaning, resulting in your filter becoming blocked. If this happens you are left with only 2 options. Replace the filter, often at the cost of over £1,200.... or remove the filter completely!

Are you in need of replacing your Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)?

If your regeneration cycle has failed to clean your filter, if your DPF light is on your dash, or if you simply want to avoid this power sapping- fuel consumption harming - expensive situation the yes, you should consider removing it from your car

REPLACING YOUR DPF FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST

What's involved?
Replacing your DPF can be a VERY costly excercise, therefore many people opt to remove the faulty 'power restricting' DPF from their car and replace it with a straight through pipe. This not only ulneashes a great deal of EXTRA power from your car, but it also costs FAR LESS than the DPF itself.

You cannot simply remove the filter itself. In order to complete the process this exhaust modification needs to be accompanied by a software update within your vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU). By remapping the ECU and removing the DPF file, your vehicle will no longer start the 'regeneration' process that removes the accumulated particles within diesel engines.

As part of the DPF ECU remapping file removal service we can also 'custom REMAP' your ECU too, giving you all the power & fuel saving advantages of an ECU REMAP

Are there any legal requirements when removing a DPF?
There are currently no legal requirements when removing a DPF from your vehicle. After the complete DPF removal process (including the DPF-Tune software update)  your emissions will remain within the required levels as per your vehicle type which does not have a DPF.

The diesel particulate filter on any vehicle is not a legal requirement, but often sold as an optional extra when the vehicle is purchased from new. As many people are seeking an alternative to replacing this expensive component when it breaks, the 'DPF-Tune' ecu remapping service provides the perfect option to saving pennies whilst increasing the overall performance of your vehicle.
