How does it work?
The performance of your car is determined by many different components in your engine, however by far the the most important element is the buring of fuel in your engine- this effectively produces the POWER! Fuel quality varies greatly around the world, as does the air temperature (which effects how the fuel burns). As your manufacturer has no idea where your car will end up once it it built, the software inside your car is comprimesed in many areas to meet all the possible variations around the globe. Put very simply, an ECU Remap simply tweeks these settings in your cars software to make the most of the good quality fuel and cooler air temperaturers we have here in the UK. These simple tweeks make a BIG difference! There are many other minor 'tweeks' we make, such as altering fuel pressure and turbo boost pressure, which when put together produce these fantastic results!

Why dont manufacturers do this when they build vehicles ?
COST! It would be very expensive for a manufacturer to do this, as like we said earlier when a car is built they dont know where it will end up. So, for them to remap the ECu they would have to take the car out of the 'car park' when it is ordered and put it back onto the production line to have it specifically 'maped' for its customers climate. This would significantly add to the cost of the vehicle- which they clearly dont want to do! 

Fuel consumption
Typically you will see an extra 4 - 12 mpg increase in fuel efficiency! (50 - 120 extra miles on a tank of fuel) on a turbo diesel. Petrol engines usually see an extra 1 - 4 mpg. 

How long does it take?
This varies between vehicles but usually its between 1 - 2 hours

Will it work on my car?

Can you come to me to do it, or do I have to come to you?
Most customers come to us and relax in our waiting area while their car is being remapped, however can also come to you. If you are within 10 miles there is no call out charge. If you are more than 10 miles away we charge a call out fee- depending on how far away you are.
